Finally Working, Finally Moved In, & the Wedding Gets Closer
Jun 15, 2009 Dubuque, Milwaukee, The Engagment, The Wedding
Wow, has it really been a month since the last time I posted something here? Apparently not only does time fly when you are having fun…but also when you are very busy!
Oh, and that lolcat on the right? I’ve been so busy the last month most of the time I’ve just been goin ‘what!? slow down, I’ve got a ton of things going on!’ What then has been going on exactly?
I’ve Moved
On the first of the month I moved from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Dubuque, Iowa. I have a new job after getting laid off in March and Dubuque was where the job was…so a move was in order. I found a nice two bedroom apartment, wood floors, basement, in unit washer & dryer, big open rooms…all for $10 less than my apartment in Milwaukee. The downside of all this is that I had to break my lease in Milwaukee and until they find someone to fill the apartment I am responsible for the rent. Which Sucks. If anyone is looking for an apartment on the South Side of Milwaukee let me know.
I’ve Started a New Job
As mentioned above as the reson for my move was that I got a new job! Being unemployed and having the whole day free is not all it’s said to be. I enjoy having an 8-5 job…and I hope I am never unemployed again. My new job is a helpdesk job in a small IT Department…myself, my boss, and the network person. I’ve only been at it a week but I am enjoying it so far.
The Wedding Is Fast Approaching
My wedding is now just a mere 3 months away. Most of the stuff is done already, as I have mentioned before, I believe we have just the invites to send out now. Pretty much all that is left now is for me to be excited and nervous at the same time for the next 3 months. I am very ready to get married, but it is a big step and 3 months of waiting is lots longer than I would like.
One Last Thing
About halfway through August I will be sharing some news with you. I don’t want to reveal what it is right now but it’s coming soon and for me at least it is very exciting. I look forward to letting you all know what it is.
So folks, that is what I have been busy with…and there are still more excitings things up ahead! I’ve learned quite a bit in the last few months, life is busy and hectic…but God never gives you more than you can handle…and I’ve learned that a person sure can handle a lot more than they think they can.

Thanks for this post. I bookmarked some of the sites you mentioned. Looking for a job for a while feels like spinning one’s wheels, at least for me. I liked your suggestion to me to take frequent/regular breaks to upkeep morale and to call family when you get in those down moods.

Good post. Online networking seems crucial these days. I’ve found many good jobs through temp agencies over the years. It’s how I got started in my current career. It’s an easier way for employers to find people and try them out.
